In addition to the Folk Museum, plans are underway to create a Natural History Museum to be located in the Tower of the Dutch Reformed Church. This will consist of displays depicting the geological history of Statia with various rocks and minerals from around the world.

Displays of marine life, flora and fauna of the island will also be presented. Funding will be sought for this project through private donations as well as grants from funding organizations.

Major archaeological investigations are currently underway to tell us more about our Slave History. These investigations will hopefully lead us to a Museum of Our Slavery Days. While most of our current understanding understanding is based on oral history and documents form other countries we have a strong desire and dedication to unearth more of this terrible period and present it for the memory of thsoe who endured its hardships and rose above to belss us all.

The Maritime Museum will be located on the historic waterfront known as Lowertown and will be housed in the original Customs warehouse. This gallery will contain many of the artifacts found in underwater investigations by underwater archaeologists from William and Mary, East Carolina University and Texas A. & M. Plans for a replica of the Andrew Doria are envisioned as well as artist depictions of the waterfront and its anchorage.
