The Minus 2 Band is Statia's most experienced musical group founded in 1981 under the name Roots. Eleven years later in 1992 the name of the group was changed to Minus 2. The face of the band has changed throughout the past 15 years with some players leaving and new ones joining. But, Minus 2 lives on.
Minus 2 has traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Holland and the Netherlands. They have performed during Carnival on Saba, St. Maarten, Anguilla, St. Barths and Curacao with their audience always begging for more.
Minus 2 has been a force to reckon with during the annual Calypso Eliminations and Road March competitions in St. Eustatius these past 25 years. Winning Road March songs include; I didn't know, Horning, Impeachment and Hurricane. The group further managed to capture the win for the following Road March numbers; Get Funky, Right in it, Hands in the Air, Statia Massive, Roadblock Jam and Roll Back your Bum Bum.
